What should you consider when choosing rims for the Ford F-150?
The Ford F-150 has a bolt pattern unique to Ford – 6x135 – and it matters that you know that before ordering. Unlike many other American pickups, which run 6x139.7, F-150 rims cannot simply be swapped with those from a Silverado or a Ram. The ET value on the F-150 is generally around ET44, which is relatively high for an American pickup. That means the rim sits further inboard than on a Ram or Silverado, for example. Choose too low an ET and you risk spray from the tyres along the side of the vehicle.

The right bolt pattern is the basic condition for a rim to fit. Here is what applies: Ford F-150 (2004–): 6x135, hub diameter 87.1 mm. Ford F-150 Raptor (2017–): 6x135, hub diameter 87.1 mm. The Ford F-150 and F-150 Raptor share a bolt pattern but have different tyre diameters. Always check the model year and trim. Which rim size fits the Ford F-150?
The original sizes vary by trim and model year: Ford F-150 XL and XLT: 17–22 inches. Ford F-150 Lariat and King Ranch: 18–22 inches. Ford F-150 Platinum and Limited: 20–22 inches. Ford F-150 Raptor: 17 inches from the factory with BFGoodrich tyres. Many F-150 owners choose to go up to 20 or 22 inches for a fuller look. Remember that larger rims need a lower tyre profile to keep the overall wheel circumference right; otherwise the speedometer, and at worst the ABS system, is affected.
